Should we inform the girls’ medical condition to the boy’s family?

Question

Salam. My daughter has a marriage offer.  She is healthy except for a Thyroid issue which is managed using medication and is under control.  Should we tell the grooms family or proceed as normal?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Respected Sister in Islam,

We advise you to inform the boy’s family about the thyroid issue. That will avoid unnecessary complications in future.

We make dua Allah Taala grant your daughter complete Shifa and peaceful married life. Ameen.
