Is it permissible under any circumstance for a woman to attend university?

Is it permissible under any circumstance for a woman to attend university?

Some argue that we need female muslim doctors and therefore it is permissible for a woman to attend university atleast to study medicine.  

Similarly some argue that it is permissible for a woman to attend university on condition she adorns the "hijab".

One other unfortunate problem is that many ulama are sending their daughters to university. This is giving the general awaam a "legitimate" excuse to justify sending their daughters to university. 

Can respected mufti saheb please shade some light on this issue.

As i feel that firstly there are already alot of non muslim female doctors and therefore there is really no need for our womenfolk to put their hayaa and imaan on the line by going into the university environment. It is not that there is no alternative. 

Secondly as far as hijaab is concerned the proper sharia hijaab which demands that a woman should stay in the home can never be accomplished and infact as soon the woman attends mixed university that command already breaks. 

Even the so called "hijab" that is used to justify women going to university is rarely practically possible.  The reason is because interactions between males and females are without any doubt going to happen at a certain stage, Be it with the lecturers or with students. 

There is also fear that those women who attend university with the niqaab may start regarding the niqaab as a burden due to the demands of the university environment. 

In light of the above i humbly request respected mufti saheb to kindly advise on whether it is permissible and advisable for a woman to attend university.
