Is it allowed to adress father-in-law or mother-in-law as father or mother?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Shariah advises us to be kind and considerate to our in-laws.

One may refer and call his father-in-law and mother-in-law, father and mother out of respect and kindness.

ساس اور سسر ماں، باپ کے درجے میں ہوتے ہیں، ان کے حقوق وہی ہیں جو ماں باپ کے ہیں اس لیے ان کے ادب و احترام میں انھیں ساس اور سسر کے بجائے امی اور ابو وغیرہ کہہ سکتے ہیں، جائز ہے۔
