Can women wear artificial jewelry?

Question

If women can wear artificial jewelry? I heared that its impermissible in islam .. Is that true?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it is permissible for women to wear artificial jewelry. However, women may only wear rings made of gold or silver.

If the ring is made of an alloy of different metals, then the ring will take the ruling of whichever metal is predominant in the alloy. For example, if the ring is made of an alloy containing 47.5% platinum and 52.5% gold, the ring will be considered to be of gold, and therefore it will be permissible for a woman to wear it.
