Taking al-Ḥizbul al-Aʿẓam to the restroom - Can i do this?

Question

Am I allowed to keep Al-Hizbul Aʿzam inside my backpack and carry it around? The reason I am asking is because I go to the restroom and stuff with the backpack?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it is permissible to enter a restroom with an item that contains verses of the Qurān and Arabic duā’s if the item is completely covered.[1] Accordingly, it is permissible to keep a copy of al-izb al-Aʿẓam in one’s backpack when one goes to the restroom as it is completely covered by the backpack. However, it will be advisable to keep the backpack outside with someone if possible.
