Imam lead Jumu‘ah twice, is my Jumu‘ah valid?
Question
If a Hanafi is praying 2nd juma behind a shafi or ghair muqallid imam who already led the first jumma, will his jumma be valid?
And would it make a difference in the ruling if that particular person did not know about this masala, or he knew about the masala but was not aware that the imam already led the first jumma?

Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
According to the Hanafi Madhab (school of thought), it is not permissible for a person to perform Jumu‘ah behind any Imam who already performed Jumu‘ah. If he did so, the Salah will be Nafl. [1][2]
If he became aware of the Imam’s situation after performing the Jumu‘ah, then he should repeat his Jumu‘ah Salah in another Masjid if possible. Otherwise, he should perform Zuhr Salah.

وأما الاقتداء بالمخالف في الفروع كالشافعي فيجوز ما لم يعلم منه ما يفسد الصلاة على اعتقاد المقتدي عليه الإجماع،

وَأَمَّا الِاقْتِدَاءُ بِالْمُخَالِفِ فَإِنْ كَانَ مُرَاعِيًا لِلشَّرَائِطِ وَالْأَرْكَانِ عِنْدَنَا فَالِاقْتِدَاءُ بِهِ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى الْأَصَحِّ وَيُكْرَهُ وَإِلَّا فَلَا يَصِحُّ أَصْلًا ذَكَرَهُ فِي الْبَحْرِ اهـ.
وَنَقَلَ فِي شَرْحِ الْمَجْمَعِ عَنْ الْكِفَايَةِ الِاقْتِدَاءُ بِالشَّافِعِيِّ مَكْرُوهٌ لَكِنَّهُ إنْ عَلِمَ مِنْهُ مَا يُفْسِدُ الصَّلَاةَ كَالْفَصْدِ لَا يَجُوزُ،
