I just came to know this about my wife, what should i do?

I have been married for 6 months, i just came to know through my wife that she had been raped 4 years ago. This has been a shocking news for me as it was an arranged marriage with the mutual consent of both families. Now i dont feel too good about it though. What shd i do?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We are sad to note the contents of your email. The issue in reference has serious implications on the marriage. If the marriage was arranged and with mutual consent, then the issue in reference should have been discussed. We also understand the sensitivity around divulging and discussing such issues by the girl’s family.
Our advise is that your wife has trusted you and divulged the issue to you, you ought to appreciate that. She could have concealed the issue from you. It is her honesty and loyalty to you that she divulged such a sensitive issue to you.
We understand your discomfort with such information. However, if you are happily married, you should overlook that discomfort for the pleasure of Allāh Ta'ala. If you will be a means of comfort and support for her, that will invoke the mercy of Allāh Ta'ala towards you in the difficult challenges and phases of your life.
