Is it wrong to hope our unborn child is a particular gender?

I am 2 weeks pregnant Alhamdolillah.
I wish for a baby boy and my husband wants a girl?
He is very caring husband.
My question is it permissible for us as future parents to have such wishes.
Meaning he wants girl and i want boy.
Its just a wish and we dont argue on this.
Its just comes up during friendly talks and we just laugh and leave to Allah.
Is it fine to have such feelings.

Plz make dua for a healthy child.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We make dua Allah make your pregnancy easy and grant you a healthy child. Ameen. It is not prohibited to wish for a child of a particular gender. If Allah grants you your wish, thank Allah. If Allah decrees otherwise, submit to the decree of Allah and be pleased. The choice of Allah is better than our wishes.
