Status of the income of a person who does not perform Salaah. Is it permissible to consume?
Question
Assalamualikum
My question is, my elder brother earns halal but he does not offer any Salah/Namaj. But he loves islam. We are trying to make him understand that Salaht is the most important task for any muslim. He confesses that but he has not any interest to offer salah.
he brings food for us everyday so now can we consune that food. Will it be halal for us to consume ?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We commend you for your concern to consume Halaal. Continue advising your brother with wisdom and also make Duaa for his guidance. You should start reading the kitaab: ‘Fazail e Amaal’ by Molana Zakariyyah Rahmatullah Alaihi in your house from the chapter of Salaah. It has proven to be effective in changing the lives of many people.

With regards to food, there are two aspects: the source of the money used to purchase the food and the ingredients of the food. If both of these are Halal, then the food will be Halal to consume. Although missing Salaah is a major sin, it will not cause his income or provisions to be Haraam.
