If I use my parents disabled badge when they are not with me am I committing a sin?

Question

The use of my parents disabled badge.

If I use my parents disabled badge when they are not with me am I committing a sin?

If I use the disabled badge for parking where there are Pay and display parking, does this mean I then owe the person who owns the parking lot such as the council?

Can a disabled badge be used to go for the daily prayers without the actual holder? Parking around the Masjid is very hard to find and using the badge is the only way to make sure to get there on time and without getting a parking ticket.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The disabled badge is meant to create ease for disabled people. It is incorrect for an able person to use the disabled badge and parking for him. If one has abused the disabled badge, he should repent and never abuse the badge in the future
