Is it allowed in islam to earn money through selling car insurance?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle all conventional insurance policies are designed around interest (Riba), gambling (Qimar) and uncertainty (Garar). It is not permissible to sell conventional insurance schemes as that will be assiting in sin. Allah Ta’ala says:

وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ (المائدة: 2)

Translation: “Assist one another is righteousness and piety, and do not assist in sin and rancour.” (Al-Ma’idah: 2)

Brother, if you withhold yourself from haram employment for the sake of Allah, He will certainly open up other avenues of sustenance and income for you, Insha Allah. Allah Ta’ala says:

{ وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ} [الطلاق: 2، 3]

Translation: “Whoever fears Allah, Allah will make for him a way out, and will provide for him where he does not expect.” (At-Talaaq:2,3)
