Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Almighty Allah says:

Translation: Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (3:31)

If you want to develop a strong bond with Allah Ta’ala, first and foremost be steadfast in fulfilling your basic duties as a Muslim.

  • Perform your Salah regularly and on time.
  • Recite the Quran daily.
  • Be sensitive to the rights of fellow human beings.

Most importantly, follow the Sunnah of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) in every aspect of your life. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:

Translation: Abu Huraira narrates:

Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, "All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse." They said, "O Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)! Who will refuse?" He said, "Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it)." (Sahih Bukhari-7280)

Translation: Abu Huraira narrates:

Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, "Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah, and whoever obeys the ruler I appoint, obeys me, and whoever disobeys him, disobeys me." (Sahih Bukhari-7137)
