2 Rakat prayer after tawaf during Umrah. It is wajib Nafil or sunnat?
Question
I am having one question regarding 2 Rakat prayer after tawaf during Umrah. It is wajib Nafil or sunnat? In
the haram area I have seen it written that tawaf sunnah prayer area infront of makame Ibrahim.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
According to the Hanafi school of thought, it is wajib (compulsory) to perform two rak'ats after tawaf. (1)
According to Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal Rahimahullah, praying two rak'ats after tawaf is sunnah and Hanbali school of thought is primarily followed in Saudi Arabia.
