Can a Girl talk/chat with Non-Mahram guys?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Respected sister.

It is haram (severely prohibited) in Shari’ah to communicate with non-mahrams.  The prohibition also includes talking and texting. Shari’ah also serves to save one from the undesirable consequences of such haram communications. Chatting to a person of the opposite gender leads to emotional attachment which will assist shaytaan in fuelling and spurring one’s carnal desires. Initiating and establishing a Haraam relationship on social media may also lead to heartbreak which can emotionally scar a person for life. Shari’ah wishes to protect us from such disastrous consequences.
