May I make Du'a using my own words and in the English language?

Question

Or should I use Du'aas found in Qur'an and Sunnah?

Answer

You are permitted to make Du'aa in your own words in English. But the
preferable is to make the Masnoon Du'aas, then follow it up with the Du'aa
in English.
