What is the correct Qibla for North America?
Question
As salaamu alaikum respected Shaykh,
I have been told by several brtothers who say the correct direction from Canada and the US is southeast and not northeast,
What is the correct direction from North America?

Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The correct direction of the Qibla for North America is towards Northeast. It is not permissible to pray towards the Southeast.[1]
