Fatwa #397115 October 2001South Africa

I would like to know whether the name Kudaija and Romana exist, are valid and if so, what are their meanings.Jazakallah

Answer

Khudaij (Arabic - dimunitive of Khadeej) meaning small, young, small bodied,
of small statue, etc. (Dimunitives in Arabic are used to express
endearment).

Roomaanah (Arabic) - a derivative of Raama - to seek or intend. Generally, a
suffix of Alif noon denotes the superlative. Thus, Rooman (fem. Roomaanah)
could mean determined, seeking, etc. A close match is Rummaanah meaning
either pomegranate or navel (anactomy) - which is the centre of the body,
thus, it could mean a central or focal figure, etc.
