Basa Fish
Question
Assalamoualaikoum
I live in canada and i have a bengali family friend . Every weekend they send us fish dish and they eat a fish called basa fish . I am not a fish eater but after this basa fish does not have no smell at all. Last week my daughter told me that basa fish is not halal. I want to confirm is it halal or not. I read online many other websites says it is not halal.
According to me it look like a fish and live in water. It doesn't have scale as what I read . It says it is from the family of cat fish . here is the link of the fish that we get in canada . the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basa_fish . Can you please confirm it is halal or haram.

We have observed the link provided on basa fish. We also researched other links on basa fish. According to our research basa fish is a fish and it is halaal.[i]
