Shia belief of the Quraan

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Almighty Allah has undertaken to preserve the Quraan.

Allah says:

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ  

Translation: Without doubt, only we have revealed the Quraan and we shall certainly be its protectors.

 (Ensuring that it remains unchanged throughout time) 

(Surah-Al-Hijr, Verse 9)

The undertaking by Allah is with repeated emphasis, hence it is a promise.

Allah, the Most Honourable, the Most High will surely fulfil this promise. He will never go against his promise.

Allah says:

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا یُخْلِفُ الْمِیْعَادَ 

Allah Ta’ala does not break His promises

(Surah Al-Imraan, Verse 9)

If one alleges that some part of the Quraan is missing, he has to prove that Allah did not fulfil his promise. Allah forbid, such a conclusion leads to attributing and dishonouring Allah, which is clearly kufr.

The Shias refer to some Ahaadeeth to support their claims of some portions of the Quraan missing. [1]

Kindly forward us those specific Ahaadeeth. Inshallah, we will offer answers to those specific Ahaadeeth.
