If I have had a wet dream, but did not know, then if I neglect my faraidh will I still get sin?
Question
I am at the age of 12. I am unsure as to whether or not salah is fardh on me. I do not think that I have had a wet dream meaning I am not mature yet. If I have had a wet dream but don't know then if I neglect what is fardh will I still get sin?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Your understanding that you are not mature (Baligh) is correct. You are not Baligh as yet.
However, Shar’iah encourages one to try to make a habit of performing Salah from the age of 10.[1]
Consider the following Hadith:
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مُرُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ، وَاضْرِبُوهُمْ عَلَيْهَا، وَهُمْ أَبْنَاءُ عَشْرٍ وَفَرِّقُوا بَيْنَهُمْ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ
Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: Command your children to pray when they become seven years old, and beat them for it (prayer) when they become ten years old; and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately.
We advise you to refer to your teachers regarding what is a wet dream and how one becomes Baligh.

مروا أولادكم بالصلاة وهم أبناء تسع، واضربوهم عليها وهم أبناء تسع، واضربوهم عليها وهم أبناء عشر قلت: والصوم كالصلاة على الصحيح كما في صوم
درر الحكام شرح غرر الأحكام (1/ 50)
