Misc. Walima Questions.

Question

Assalaam-alaykum,

If someone is holding their nikkah overseas and in the next day or the next two days, they feed the poor people in the area, will that count as a walimah? Do the people recieving the food need to know that this food is for a walimah? If those being fed are people that are strangers to the couple, does the walimah count? Is there a certain amount of food that should be given? If the event is not held in a particular hall or field, but just people are fed in a certain town, is that also okay? please make dua for us

Jazakallah Khair
