assalam mufti sb, I have very close poor ralative .can I give my zakaat money to her so that she can do marriage to her daughter? Is it permissible and Can I give with the niyyah of zakaat?

Answer

It is preferable to give Zakat to one's poor and needy relatives who are
eligible to accept Zakaat. Zakaat money may be given by saying it is a gift.

It is not necessary to state that it is Zakaat money. The relative may use
the Zakaat to fulfil his/her needs including getting her daughter married.
