English Spelling of the name أميمة

Question

Assalamualaikum, My wife would like to spell my daughters name Umaimah without the H at the end so the name would be spelt as Umaima. Is this permissible? Or does it have to include the H at the end spelling it as Umaimah? Jazakallah

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The correct English spelling of أميمة is Umaimah. However, you may spell the name as Umaima as well.
