Snapchat filters
Question
Asalamualikum I hope you are well. My question is: What is the ruling regarding Snapchat filters. I have considered that picture taking all together is impermissible. Students of knowledge have asked me in particular about the animal filters. Please shed some light on this matter. JazakAllah

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We commend your attitude towards taking pictures.
There is a difference amongst the Ulama regarding digital photography.
Nevertheless, since you acknowledge the impermissibility of taking pictures, there doesn’t remain any discussion for the permissibility of taking pictures with any type of filter.
Furthermore, animal filters may be against the dignity and honor of a human being.
