Washing stool in sink

Question

Asalaamu Alaikum,

I wash my child in the sink to purify any stool that may be remaining.  Someone informed me that I cannot use the same sink to do wudu.  Is this correct?  Does this mean that public restrooms cannot be used for wudu?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

There is no prohibition in using the same sink used to wash the remaining stool of the child. However, when washing the remaining stool, ensure that all the impurities are washed away and that there are no remains of the stool left in the sink.[i]
