Buying lingerie for one’s wife
Question
Assalamualaikum Mufti saab
Is it okay for a husband to buy his wife body stockings/ sexually arousing costumes/ lingerie?
These come at a price, will spending on these be considered israaf?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is permissible for the husband to purchase such clothing for one’s wife. That is not Israaf. [i]
