Assalamu-alaikum, 1) Is it permissable to talk (words of love/affection) to my wife during sexual intercourse? 2) What (talking) is permissable during intercourse with my wife? Jazakallah Khair

Question

I am a newly married muslim brother, and I am confused, because some people say that I cannot talk during intercourse, whilst others say that Jews stay completely quite during intercourse. Therefore I thought it would be wise to ask a respected Mufti like yourself for clarification of these issues.

Answer

It is permissible, in fact, encouraged to express one's love to his wife
during intercourse by saying words of love and affection to her.
