Can I read the Holy Quran on the train when travelling to and from work?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

It is permissible and in fact commendable to recite the Quran in the train while traveling to and from work.

However, bear in mind if you recite from the Quran than you have to be in the state of wudhu to hold the Quran. It is not necessary to be in the state of wudhu if you recite through memory without holding the Quran. (1)
