Who is Imaam Mahdi and what does he have to do with judgement day?

Imaam Mahdi will be from the descendants of our beloved Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). His name will also be Muhammad and his father's name will be Abdullah. His appearance will be among the major signs of Qiyaamat. He will lead the Muslims and during his era, there will be justice, peace and piety.
