Is it halal for us to start a side business in our free time ?
Question
me and my friend is working in Marble company in Saudi Arab . We want to start another kind of side business , which is not related to marble . Is it halal for us to start a side business in our free time ? do we need to take persmission from our owner to start this buiness ?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh
In principle, your employment will be governed by the terms and condition of the employment contract with your employer. Your employment is either based on time or work. If you have completed your work or you have spent your allocated and designated time of employment, then it is permissible for you to conduct a side-business in your free time without taking permission from your employer.
