Is it allowed to use face creams and lotions containing steric acid?

Question

is it halal to use face creams and lotions(eg. fair n lovely, dove)containing steric acid..JazakAllah.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh

Steric Acid has harmful side effects.[1] If it is used for medical purposes and it is prescribed by one’s doctor, it will be permissible to use such creams and lotions.
