Recording Video's
Question
we know that taking and preserving pictures of human and animals not permissible. but what about video? is it permissible?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
There is a difference of opinion amongst contemporary Ulama regarding the permissibility of videotaping or video recording. According to some Ulama, videotaping is a form of photography, which is impermissible.
Due to the severe warnings mentioned in the Ahadith, it is advisable that one practice precaution and refrain from taking pictures or recording video's.
