Is it permissible to use hair straightening creams or hair relaxer on the beard?

Question

I wanted to ask if it was permissible to use hair straightening creams or hair relaxer on the beard. This is in order to straighten and neaten the beard. An example is http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phyto-Phytospecific-Phytorelaxer-Index/dp/B0018DNGQI/

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is permissible to apply cream or hair relaxer on the beard.
