Does this statement constitute a divorce?
Question
I have currently moved to a new city and am staying alone without my family temporarily.
If I tell someone that I am a bachelor now, with the intention that I am living the life of a bachelor, will this be considered as a divorce.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The statement in reference does not constitute a divorce[1].
