Talaq via sms
Question
I would like to ask. if your have given one talaaq via sms and the iddath period has passed....What must the couple do if they want to live as husband and wife again....jazakallah for your time and await your answer....
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
If the husband issued one talaq via sms to his wife, the talaq is valid (1). If the iddah expired, the husband and wife may reconcile by performing a new nikah if the husband did not issue his wife with two divorces previously. (2, 3)
