Is shahadah valid over the phone?
Question
my daughter want to become a Muslim she live in a different town can she take kalimatu-sh-shahadah over the phone.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is indeed great news that your daughter wants to become a Muslim. It is fine for your daughter to pronounce her shahadah over the phone. She should also consider contacting local religious authorities for further guidance.
