Is it permissible to eat beer battered fish?
Question
I want to know if i can eat beer battered fish on the ingredients its has beer extract[contains barley] listed in the ingedients more beer batter than vegi oil and less than acidity regulators.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is impermissible to eat beer battered fish.[1]

[1] ( قوله بلا لهو وطرب ) قال في المختار : الطرب خفة تصيب الإنسان لشدة حزن أو سرور ا هـ .
قال في الدرر .
وهذا التقييد غير مختص بهذه الأشربة بل إذا شرب الماء وغيره من المباحات بلهو وطرب على هيئة الفسقة حرام ا هـ ط .
