What is the meaning of the name Simra?

Question

I wish to know if 'Simra' is an appropriate islamic name for a girl. Also what is its meaning.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We could not locate the Islamic meaning of the name Simra.

One should name one’s children after the Ambiyā’, Sahābah (male companions), Sahābiyyāt (female companions) and pious predecessors. As such, you should name your daughter with names such as: Maryam, ‘Aishah or Zaynab etc.
