Can i dispose of interest money by giving it to the poor?
Question
I have a saving (NRE) account in Indian bank. Some interest money
deposited by bank. That money can give to poor (needy) people. It is
permissible ?
Answer
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Yes, dispose the interest money by giving it to the poor as Sadaqah without having the intention of reward.[1]
And Allah Ta‘āla Knows Best
