Is it allowed to take extra down payment from customers?

Question

In our company offer is going on for cell, but we take extra downpayment from outside peaple without their knowledge. The Money we receive from is it valid? because we take full resposibilites for providing cell to them.

Please sir answer my question its very urgent.
