In light of today's revelation of Tim Cook CEO of Apple saying that he is "proud to be gay" should a Muslim stop using Apple products?

Question

In light of today's revelation of Tim Cook CEO of Apple saying that he is "Pround to be gay". Should a muslim stop using Apple products?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalāmu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh

Kufr (disbelief) is a far greater crime in the eyes of Sharī‘ah than homosexuality. Yet, it is permissible to buy and sell from disbelievers and use their products.[1] While as Muslims we are averse to any violations of Sharī‘ah, this alone is no reason to avoid trading with people who perpetrate such violations. Purchasing products from the Apple Company does not itself entail supporting the sins committed by its members. Hence, a Muslim may continue to buy and use Apple products.

And Allah Ta‘ālā Knows Best
