Can you clarify what the ruling is on making dua to the Prophet and asking him to make dua for you to Allah.

Question

We read in books like rowdh and fadail hajj the people would come to the prophet's grave and ask tell him that they have come as his guest and would like him to arrange food for them.

Answer

It is permissible to request the Prophet to make Du'aa to Allah to fulfil
one's worldly needs as well as the needs of the hereafter.
