Can i name my son Abu Hurayra?
Question
its been more than 2weeks i posted a question relating naming my son as abu huraira.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Abu Hurayrah was the name[1] of a famous Sahabi. As such, naming one’s child Abu Hurairah is permissible.

[1] The name Abu Hurayrah for which this Sahabi is famously known by is actually his kunyat (teknonymy). It is said that his actual name was 'Abd ar-Raḥmān ibn Ṣakhr al-Azdī.
