Is it permissible to perform Salaah behind an Imam who had his Nikah done secretly?
Question
An ulima got married a her maternal sister in a illegal way....they flew away from and got married without the permission of their parent...nikha has done secretly...now they came back to home and the villagers wanted to make him imam of the village mòsque....is it permiscible to perform namaz behind him in the eye of islam......plz tell me.....

In order for us to provide an answer please clarify the following points:
- What do you mean by “maternal sister”?
- What do you mean by an illegal marriage?
- Do you have a problem with the Alim?
- Why do the people want that Alim to perform Salah?
