How to ask a female`s hand in marriage.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa-ramatullahi wa-barakatuh.

Marriage is a sacred institution. Marriage from the initial request to the actual marriage should be carried out with dignity and honour.

It is permissible for a muslim male to make a request of marriage to a muslim female through email or mobile sms. It may be more dignified to make a marriage request through a trusted person.[1]

And Allah Ta`ala Knows Best.
