Quran on mobile phones
Question
Are we allowed to have quran in mobile phones etc. Where as we use the bathroom while our phones are in our pockets?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.
In the enquired case, the principle issue to determine is whether the mobile phone with the Qur’ān in it constitutes disrespect to the Qur’ān or not. If the screen of the mobile phone is switched off, then the mobile phone being in ones pocket while in the bathroom and relieving oneself does not constitute disrespect to the Qur’ān.
