Can you tell me that if a person gives his wife a divorce in the court, according to the English law does this nullify his Islamic Marriage.

Question

I would like to know whether my wife is still my wife according to the sharia. When I have signed papers in a divorce case.

Answer

If your husband initiated the divorce, it will be valid.
