False certificate in job interview.
Question
My question is is it halal to earn or get a job with showing fake experience certificate.(if you have a good knowledge of that work and you pass in interview).?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is a major sin to fake a certificate to qualify for a job. [1] Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said,
مَنْ غَشَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا
Translation: Whoever deceives, he is not from amongst us. [Tirmidhi 1315]
If one offers a valid service and gets paid for that service, the income will be halal.[2] However, if one acquires this service through a fake certificate, he will be sinful for deceit and lies.
