Does swallowing phlegm invalidate one’s fast?

Question

Does swallowing one’s phlegm invalidate one’s fast? I have seasonal allergies that cause me to produce phlegm, sometimes I’m able to spit it out but other times I cant and end up swallowing it.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

Swallowing one’s phlegm does not invalidate one’s fast.[1]

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
