Can an IUD break one's fast?

Question

Can IUD be placed while fasting? Or can it break the fast.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

There are various different types of Intra-Uterine Devices (IUD) such as Hormonal IUD, Copper IUD, Diaphragms, etc.[1] Kindly clarify which specific IUD you are referring to in order for us to issue a ruling.
